Cargo: Automatisch Web-/JavaEE-Container starten/stoppen und Module Deployen

Cargo (von Vincent Massol) bietet Java-APIs sowie Ant und Maven Unterstützung, um Web- und Java EE-Container zu starten/stoppen und Module zu deployen. Die Liste der Server ist erst einmal toll: Geronimo, JBoss, Jetty, Resin, WebLogic, Tomcat (kein WebSphere!). So gut die Idee auch ist, leider ist das Projekt soweit gestorben. Wer Lust hat, darf gerne project lead werden. Na ja, die letzte Version ist von 10/03/07 und bisher hat sich noch keiner gefunden.

    Alternativ zu Cargo arbeiten wir mit Xen-Containern. Falls jemand mehr wissen möchte, können wir gerne den ganzen Prozess im Detail vorstellen.

  • Heute gute Neuigkeiten über Hudson gefunden: http://weblogs.java.net/blog/kohsuke/archive/2008/05/ill_be_spending.html. Der Autor, Kohsuke ("Hudson is now my day job"), schreibt: "With this shift, I plan to finally implement some of the long-standing big features, as well as fix more bugs in more timely fashion. For example, Stephen and I are already working on enabling virtual machines to be used as build slaves (so that you don't have to install test environment to each machine individually.)" Das wäre mal cool. Bin gespannt, was die nutzen.
